College of Education Q&A with Kellie Wilson

  1. What is your role and how will you be working with faculty and staff in the college?

Director of Research, working with the College on all Externally Sponsored Post-award functions.

  2. What are you most looking forward to about your new role?

Building relationships with all faculty and staff which will support a collaborative approach to post-award functions of the College.

  3. Where were you before you came to the College of Education?

Most recently, I worked in Contracts & Grants Accounting at AU for 7 years.  Prior to CGA, I worked in two different departments in the College of Engineering, as well as two former institutes that were housed within the College of Agriculture.

  4. How do you think your previous work has prepared you for this new role?

Having worked at both the departmental level and the central level of post-award management, I feel that I bring a broad understanding of externally sponsored awards.  I am a “big picture” person and appreciate the impacts that both pre- and post-award functions provide for the success of each sponsored endeavor. I feel that my experience in post-award management, specifically, will support the goals for the College of Education as the externally sponsored portfolio continues to grow.

  5. Please share a surprising/interesting “fun fact” about you.

Our family loves Walt Disney World, and we are those strange people known as “rope drop regulars”.  We are up early and, on a mission, to be the first in line!
