The purpose of the Administration of Higher Education doctoral degree program is to prepare leaders to understand and apply research, policy, and practices in the higher education field. This program provides courses and experiences in the area of higher education to prepare individuals for roles such as administrators, educational leaders, researchers, policy makers, and faculty members.

Admission Requirements
Admissions Deadlines: February 1, June 1, and October 1
Master’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum overall GPA of 3.0; This GPA must be documented on the official transcript from the degree granting institution and must be the GPA that was used as the basis for granting the degree
Complete and submit a Graduate School application

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores. To be competitive, GRE scores (old / new test scores) are 400 / 146 Verbal, 400 / 140 Quantitative, and a Competent rating (3.5 or higher) on the writing section
Three recommendations that address professional and academic qualifications and a Statement of Intent (300-500 words) indicating your professional interests and goals. It can include: current goals for your professional career, reason for selecting your major field of study, type of position(s) you expect to seek when you complete the program of study covered by this application, your philosophy of education, professional issues of most concern or interest to you at this time, and/or areas of research interests. Applicants are also strongly encouraged (but not required) to ask their recommenders to complete the ETS Personal Potential Index (PPI) in addition to writing letters of recommendation. If you registered for the GRE on or after May 1, 2009, or have registered to take the GRE, you can send up to four evaluation reports free as part of your test fee. Approval of the Department’s Graduate Program Committee, Department Head, faculty members in the applicants area of specialization and the Dean of the Graduate School
Program Completion Requirements/Graduation
Prior to program completion/graduation, students must be cleared by the Department of Educational Foundations, Leadership, and Technology and the Graduate School.
