Kinesiology professor participating in SEC COVID-19 webinar on health disparities and inequities

Michael BrownSchool of Kinesiology Professor Michael Brown will represent Auburn University at the Southeastern Conference’s COVID-19 Webinar “A Pandemic in Our Communities—Health Disparities, Health Inequities and Possible Solutions.” The event is set for Wednesday, June 24, from 1-3 p.m.

The COVID-19 webinar will comprise of medical and public health, along with community leaders to discuss the unique challenges of health disparities and health inequities resident in their communities and offer examples of plans and solutions. The two-hour webinar includes four 25-minute panel discussions, which will be moderated by chief diversity officers from various SEC schools. The webinar will also include participants from local government in cities and areas that are home to SEC schools.

Brown will serve as a panelist from 2:15-2:40 p.m., alongside Sen. Reginald Thomas from Lexington, Kentucky.
