On August 11, 2019, the Autism Society of Alabama hosted its 21st annual Autism Shines Gala at the Birmingham Marriott. The event is the organization’s largest fundraiser of the year and features awards for the year’s outstanding supporters.
This year’s recipients of the President’s Award included the Regional Autism Network. Pictured left to right are Angel Leowen (Autism Society of Alabama), Auburn University’s Dr. Doris Hill (AURAN), Sylvia Hollins (UARAN), and Lizzie Griffith (UABRAN).
The award is given for unwavering commitment and outstanding contributions to families affected by autism spectrum disorder in the state of Alabama.
“These people are positive partners in our state’s initiative to connect families for autism across the state,” Hill said of her colleagues. “I am very pleased that the network was recognized for its good work.”
