Dr. Bruce Gladden, Humana-Germany-Sherman distinguished professor of exercise physiology in the School of Kinesiology, has been named as the recipient of the 2015 American College of Sports Medicine Citation Award, to be given at a ceremony in San Diego on May 26, 2015. The award is in recognition of Gladden’s long and distinguished career as a teacher and researcher, and in recognition of his “significant contributions to sports medicine and exercise science.”
Gladden has previously distinguished himself by being elected as a trustee for the American College of Sports Medicine, serving as one of two trustees in the field of basic and applied science.
“Dr. Gladden is world renowned for his work in the field of exercise physiology,” said Dr. Mary Rudisill, Wayne T. Smith Distinguished Professor and Director of the School of Kinesiology. “He is a member of the National Academy of Kinesiology and has a distinguished record of scholarship. He is most deserving of this prestigious award.”
Gladden has been a member of the College of Education faculty since 1989.
