The EAGLES program is now taking applications for peer mentors to work with its EAGLES students. EAGLES, which stands for Education to Accomplish Growth in Life Experiences for Success, is a postsecondary education program for students with intellectual disabilities. EAGLES provides an opportunity for students with intellectual disabilities to engage in a multi-year campus residential experience at Auburn.
Peer mentors serve as part of the EAGLES’ WINGS program, an acronym for Warmhearted Individuals Nurturing Great Success. All WINGS peer mentors should be students at Auburn University and be within the ages of 18 and 26. All Level 1 through 4 WINGS are required to apply through the online application process to be considered as a peer mentor. Levels 1 through 3 WINGS are required to submit contact information for a professional and a peer reference. Upon completion of the application, an email will be sent to the selected references, requesting the references to complete an online recommendation form.
Applications for WINGS peer mentors will be reviewed the 15th of each month. You will be notified that your application has been received. Complete information about the WINGS peer mentoring program and the application process is online at http://www.education.auburn.edu/wings-peer-mentors/
