In December, Auburn University College of Education doctoral student LaToya Webb will be one of a select group of conducting fellows at the prestigious Reynolds Conducting Institute in Chicago. It is the institute’s 73rd annual event.
The Institute ensemble will include the finest musicians performing a variety of chamber repertoire appropriate for the highest levels of personal growth and professional learning. The selection process was rigorous. For Webb, her selection follows on the heels of being chosen to attend the 2019 U.S. Army Band Conductors workshop. In that case, she was the first African-American female chosen for this prestigious event and one of only five conductor/participants selected by a national audition process.
