June 25, 2015

Chicago Second GradersSchmid Elementary School in Chicago has an annual competition to see which class can make the best presentation about a national college or university. This year’s winner was Quinian Matthews’ second grade class, which presented on Auburn. Matthews knows Auburn very well as three generations of her husband’s family attended the school. Schmid is a Title I school, where at least 90 percent of the students live below the poverty line. Its motto is “practicing excellence without excuses.”
