The College of Education celebrated the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Dean's Circle by welcoming seven new Patrons of the Keystone into its ranks.

Patrons of the Keystone demonstrate their support for the College of Education through multi-year pledges of $1,000 or more to the Dean's Circle Fund. Their donations provide the necessary resources for the college to advance its teaching, research and outreach.

The new members honored during the March 27 Dean's Circle Dinner at The Hotel at Auburn University & Dixon Conference Center were Susan McIntosh Housel `73, Beth St. Jean `70, Dr. James T. Jenkins `83, Col. Hollis `55 and Jo Messer `56, James Murrell `58, Brenda Smith Sanborn `68 and Carol C. Varner `57.

Guest speakers at the dinner were Katie Bolt, a junior exercise science major from Birmingham, Ala., and Dr. Mary Rudisill, head of the Department of Kinesiology. Bolt, a recipient of the Patrons of the Keystone-Dean's Circle Annual Scholarship for 2008-09, discussed the importance of the student support provided by Dean's Circle members. Rudisill addressed the far-reaching effect donor generosity has in advancing research, outreach and teaching.
