The Auburn University College of Education again set the pace among other colleges and schools on campus during the 2008 Faculty Staff Campaign . With nearly 82 percent of Education faculty and staff participating in the annual campaign, the college ranked second among AU's 13 academic units.
Faculty and staff participation in the college rose by 9 percent since the 2007 campaign. Six College of Education units achieved 100-percent participation by its employees: Dean's Office; Department of Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology and School Psychology; Department of Kinesiology; Learning Resources Center; Professional Education Services; and Truman Pierce Institute.
Sixty percent of AU's faculty and staff participated in the campaign — up five percent over 2007 participation levels. In 2007, the campus-wide faculty and staff participation rate — 55 percent — placed Auburn at the top of employee participation among SEC schools and as one of the top schools in the country for supportive faculty and staff. For 2008, AU still holds the No. 1 place in the SEC in faculty and staff giving.
In the three years of the Faculty Staff Campaign, giving by College of Education faculty and staff has increased by nearly 148 percent. Prior to 2006, giving by faculty and staff outside a campaign effort was 33 percent.
