Mindfulness-Based Performance and Health Optimization

Objective

The 2018 Wellness Retreat will facilitate a holistic approach to performance and health optimization for members of the Auburn/Opelika Community. Specifically, we will host a campus-wide retreat incorporating mindfulness-based techniques including, but not limited to, Exercise, Sleep, Nutrition, and Hydration. This particular retreat is designed to develop and/or enhance individuals’ performance, health, and well-being for daily life.

Summary

Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations. The 2018 Wellness Retreat is schedule for a total of 6 hours (9:00AM – 3:00PM). Discussion-based information and application-based guidance is set to be the focal point. The program will also include some basic restorative movements (light, active stretching), lunch, and smoothies.

The price covers the cost of lunch, smoothie ingredients, and materials. Please wear comfortable, casual attire for the restorative movement session.
