Elementary Education “STEM” Summer Camp
Rising 3rd-5th grade students are invited to join the excitement! The camp will promote summer learning success with hands-on discovery activities and technology-rich experiences. STEM is the interdisciplinary and applied approach of science, technology, engineering, and math within a curriculum-based framework which engages students in authentic, meaningful learning environments. Literacy, language arts, and social science skills and strategies will be integrated into this framework to address the holistic world in which we live. Students will have a blast as they conduct experiments, explore their creativity, and challenge their critical thinking skills. Participants may register for both weeks or for individual weeks. Students will research the topics below:
Students will investigate how design influences the building of structures. All students will develop a hypothesis and test their structures using the engineering design process.
FORCE & MOTION
Students will explore how force and motion show up in our everyday lives. They will use their knowledge of Newton’s Laws to build and test the forces and motion in objects in the real world.
Protecting the Earth
Students will examine how to address the environmental issues surrounding our world. All students will explore green designs and conservation projects to protect our earth.
