Our Physical Activity and Wellness Program (PAWP) combines the study of the basic principles of wellness with participation in a broad range of physical activities. Courses include Active Auburn, Cross Fit, Bowling, Golf, Scuba, Kayaking, Taekwondo, and Fishing, to name a few.
If you enjoy exercise and health, you can take 8 semester hours to complete the program. While completion of this program is not indicated on transcripts or diplomas, you can request a certificate upon completion of the program. The program is available to all on campus undergraduate students and requires the following courses:
KINE 1100: Wellness (2 hours)
Three PHED courses (6 hours)
Optional courses must be from 3 different categories (e.g. fitness, team sports, aquatics)
Spaces in these courses are limited and they will fill quickly. Please note:
You can add yourself to PHED courses that have openings during the first week of class.
After the first week of class, no one can be added to a PHED class, even if there are openings.
A PHED instructor does not have the authority to add students.
If you take the Active Auburn course, you can sign up to be a participant in a research study for extra credit!
Outreach
We have a Puppy Play course where you learn the basics of dog training. It helps train the dogs and you both get some exercise! Watch this video to see them in action!
